We are the leader of hereditary cancer screening and prenatal screening, innovating every day to empower women and their families to benefit from advanced molecular technologies.We are looking for a Computational Scientist to join our collaborative and interdisciplinary R&D team. The ideal candidate will enjoy the careful and thorough characterization of complex biological datasets using sound mathematical and computational tools, as well as good communication skills.What you’ll do:Prototype, optimize, implement, and test existing and new analysis methods and bioinformatics pipelines to support R&D initiatives.Rigorously analyze a variety of large datasets – including genomic data, clinical-outcomes data, lab-operations data, etc. – to gain actionable insights that guide development of assays and pipelines.Communicate your results internally to key stakeholders, and externally at conferences and in peer-reviewed literature.Work closely with experimental scientists within R&D but also interact cross-functionally with other teams including software, clinical genomics, operations, and external collaborators.Provide high quality documentation that ensures your work is reproducible and understandable by other team members.Suggested qualifications:(feel very encouraged to apply even if not all are met)PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biophysics, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related discipline.Track record of performing end-to-end analysis that includes design, data gathering, processing, analysis, iteration, and presentation of results.Strong software skills, preferably with fluency in Python and Linux shell environment (familiarity with cloud computing platforms is a plus).Well versed in statistics and making quantitative arguments from first principles.Experience with Next Generation Sequencing.Conversant in molecular biology and genetics, preferably with knowledge of cancer genomics and tumor biology.Thrives on handling diverse projects with a range of timescales.Familiarity with validation studies in the context of molecular diagnostics is a plus.A sense of humility and an eagerness to continue to learn and contribute to a supportive team.About Us
