Supports marketing and communications efforts for the Office for Global Engagement and U Asia Campus by conceptualizing and producing engaging video and social media content.Responsibilities:Reporting to the Office for Global Engagement Marketing Manager, the Media Production Coordinator plays an integral role in video and social media content strategy, creation, and execution.The Media Production Coordinator will produce polished photo, video and social media content, have strong storytelling skills, and a comprehensive knowledge of marketing best practices.Video:Oversee a video project’s entire life-cycle, from concept through production, post, review, and launch phases.Gather, organize and coordinate materials needed to create marketing videos.Write drafts of scripts for audio or video production.Collaborate with other teams across campus to help shape video concepts and deliver on project deadlines.Manage video asset library.Social Media:Promote, enhance, grow, and cultivate the “Global U” and U Asia Campus brands via various social media channels.Develop daily workflow for monitoring, amplifying, sharing, and cultivating content.Engage in brainstorming and team meetings to generate ideas for promoting events, initiatives, and the international activity of the U via social media.Independently create content for and publish social posts using a scheduling tool, monitoring for and encouraging engagement once live.Attend and document events related to the Office for Global Engagement, the U Asia Campus, and other affiliated offices.Track analytics, create reports, and review past efforts to determine effectiveness and guide future strategies.Other:Other reception, clerical, and office duties as assigned, such as coordinating events and assisting with special projects and initiatives.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); two years related experience with black and white and color photography required; demonstrated communications skills; and a commitment to providing excellent customer service required.Preferences:Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required Nearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking.Highly creative, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.Understanding of current social media platforms, best practices and guidelines.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Experience with design and video production programs.Willingness to appear in front of a camera and professionally represent the University of Utah.Demonstrated creative approach to content development.Willingness to uphold and champion University brand guidelines.Enjoys engaging with an audience via social media.Organized with scheduling and completes tasks in a timely manner.Ability to work with frequent interruptions.Experience working with diverse and/or international populations.Ability to speak one or more languages in addition to English.Experience with data analysis and organization to support reporting and decision-making processes.Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills and commitment to working collaboratively with Marketing Department and other internal departments.Able to receive and implement direction from other team members.Work nights or weekends as necessary to attend events and activities.Special Instructions Summary:Additional Information:The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems (“URS”).
