Principal Technical Program Manager, Geospatial Data

The Last Mile Delivery & Technology team owns the technical solutions that helps deliver billions of packages worldwide. We are instrumental in impacting customer satisfaction directly, by devising innovative ways to deliver packages quickly and cost-effectively to the customers, and at scale using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning solutions.
Key job responsibilitiesOur team is seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to manage large, cutting-edge programs with multi-year projects. In this role, you will be responsible for managing cross-cutting programs across the Last Mile org and our partners, delivering large solutions that span multiple businesses, technology, and operational teams. These projects will include initiatives such as rolling out new technology to new geographies as we expand, creating technical solutions to support new businesses and strategic Amazon initiatives, and building great technology platforms that can scale to Amazon’s size and global marketplaces.
The right candidate will possess a strong program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects across multiple teams, and will have a well-rounded technical background in current web technologies. You will thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in, and get the job done. As a seasoned TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are essential to success in this role.
About the teamGeospatial Data is a critical input for the customer and transporter experience and a foundational component for our planning and execution systems in last mile logistics. Our team's vision is to comprehensively capture an ever-changing world to enable a world-class logistics mapping experience. Our customers include end customers ordering and receiving packages, transporters picking up and delivering packages, downstream partners using our data to influence their decisions (planning, routing, navigation, safety, carrier selection), and upstream partners using our tools and services to analyze, edit, and improve our data every day.
Minimum Qualifications- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience- 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience- 5+ years of software development experience- Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules- 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience- Experience managing projects across cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes, and coordinating release schedules.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
