Human by nature.BASIC FUNCTIONUnder general supervision, evaluates flavoring products and incoming ingredients by performing sensory evaluations and basic physical-chemical or analytical tests.CORE RESPONSIBILITIESIdentifies and documents non-conforming product.Performs basic equipment calibrations and supports miscellaneous laboratory functions as directed.Enters test results into computer resulting in an approval or rejection.Analytical testing

may include, but not limited to SG, RI, OR, % alcohol, titrations, pH, L.A.B, Absorbance by UV Spectrometry, Turbidity, Color values and other wet chemistry tests.Supports miscellaneous lab functions as directed, including, but not limited to pre-ship sample process, filing (retain samples, CoAs, GC folders), preparing solutions, maintaining lab supplies, disposal of liquid Hazardous waste, and performing basic equipment calibrations per frequency noted in calibration procedures.Identifies out of specification results and applies simple corrections.Documents and communicates non-conformances to higher level Quality personnel and operations as needed.Analyzes and collects data for investigations.Work in accordance with all relevant requirements including, but not limited to GMP, AIB, OSHA, HACCP, FDA, USDA and internal safety guidelines.Attends site training sessions.Support and participate on improvement projects related to Quality, Food Safety, Safety, Problem Solving, Lean Manufacturing, 5 S, etc.Excellent attendance, flexibility, enthusiasm and a positive approach to work team.Other laboratory tasks might be requested based on the business needs.PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree, focus in Chemistry, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or Biology preferred; or combined relevant work experience and education.Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in manufacturing operations background (food or chemical preferred) with at least 1-year laboratory work experience.SAP experience is required.For sensory lab a basic screening.TECHNICAL COMPETENCIESMust possess strong written and verbal English skills and be able to read and explain technical documentation to others.Must be able to communicate openly.Must have the ability to think creatively.Open to change and learning.Must have customer awareness.Have a desire to achieve results and be a team player.At Givaudan, you contribute to delightful taste and scent experiences that touch people’s lives.
