The team is dedicated to developing software models that simulate Communications and Audio systems of different aircraft, and the integration of those models into flight simulators.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.The Software Engineer will perform in a production team role in the deployment of training systems, networking, interfacing with platform simulation applications, and general system-level integration and troubleshooting. The Software Engineer will update/develop software support documentation as required. This position requires assisting in the development of technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions must be imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organizational objectives and processes.Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target application.Work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system.Support and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test of embedded software for real-time control of simulated and stimulated avionics equipment.Qualifications and Education RequirementsMust be able to obtain a DOD security clearance.Ensure software and quality company processes and standards are met.Participate in peer reviews, identify, track and repair defects.Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.Management of software baselines, including branching, merging, building, maintaining, and installing software.Excellent demonstrated technical writing, presentation, and communication skills.Ability to effectively work across disciplines and achieve consistent quality results.Demonstrated creativity and problem-solving skills.Flexibility to support occasional overtime, weekend work, shift work and site travel.General computer skills including use of Microsoft Office products.Adaptable as business environment changes resulting in responsibility and technology changes.Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.Preferred SkillsSimulation or stimulation experience with any VCA subsystems such as: ARC-201, ARC-210, ARC-231.Experience with Object Oriented Design and Programming.Knowledgeable with MIL-STD 1553 interfaces.Training system simulation experience preferred.Experience with Linux Operating Systems, FORTRAN, Ada, and C++.SAFe Agile Experience a plus.Security ResponsibilitiesMust comply with all company security and data protection/usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment.
