Job Summary:
This position, reporting to the Business Analytics Manager, will support the data analytics needs on grants for the Center for Analytics & Research in Transportation Safety (CARTS). The hire will be responsible for driving the AI strategy enabling the Center for Analytics and Research in Transportation Safety (CARTS) and its stakeholders to make informed decisions through data. They will collaborate with key business stakeholders to deliver support AI solutions to support business objectives that enable future competitive grants in the AI field. This position has an end date of September 30, 2024.Job Responsibilities:
20% Analytics Application: Conduct analysis of crashes, including text mining of crash reports: Develop and present data-driven analytic solutions using analytics methods for business interpretation of models and results. These solutions may include, but are not limited to data mining, statistical analysis, pattern recognition, predictive modeling, data integration, optimization, dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.20% Support preparation of videos for AI training and support AI training: Conduct research in artificial intelligence methods (AI) and select or build appropriate solutions for AI to translate videos into data.20% Analytic Models: Build quantitative models for pre-crash events using AI and statistical methods to obtain building blocks for a dashboard which provides FMCSA with insights into crash causes.20% Dashboards: Using technical skills to build dashboards that visualize data obtained from AI.10% Collaborate with motor carrier companies in Louisiana to collect and prepare videos. Develop methods to screen videos regarding usability for AI training.10% Conduct other tasks related to grants.Minimum Qualifications:
Education Level:
Bachelor's in Information Systems, Finance, Economics, or other related field from an accredited university or college.Years of Experience:
Two years of professional experience in quantitative business analysis.Specific Experience:
Experience in data analytics.Degree Substitute:
Master's degree in Analytics, Finance, Economics, or other business degree from an accredited university or college may be substituted for 2 years of experience (no additional experience is required).Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Analytics, Finance, Economics or other related field from an accredited university, plus one year of professional experience in quantitative business analysis.Specific Experience:
Experience in SQL, Tableau, Excel, JMP.Special Instructions:
