CNC Swiss Machinist/Programmer

CNC Swiss Machinist/Programmer , you will be at the forefront of our manufacturing operations, programming and operating CNC Swiss machines to ensure the production of top-quality parts. You’ll work closely with our Operations Manager to optimize workflows, meet production goals, and maintain the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency. This hands-on role is essential to the success of our precision manufacturing processes.RequirementsKey Responsibilities:Plan Machining Operations : Review work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and material specifications to develop machining strategies.Inventory Management : Check stock levels, anticipate material needs, and maintain inventory of stock materials.CNC Programming : Program CNC Swiss ( mills and lathes a plus ) by setting tool registers, offsets, and compensation. Calculate machining requirements using math, geometry, and trigonometry, and prove part programs.Quality Assurance : Measure positions, conduct first-run part inspections, and verify machining accuracy to international standards. Ensure adherence to quality assurance protocols.Maintain Operations : Monitor and adjust drilling, grooving, cutting, and milling operations to maintain precise specifications, detect malfunctions, and troubleshoot issues as needed.Safety Compliance : Follow safety procedures and ensure safe operations in accordance with company standards and regulations.Preventative Maintenance : Perform routine maintenance and report equipment malfunctions to management.Collaboration & Communication : Document actions and irregularities to ensure smooth continuity between work shifts. Collaborate with engineering and production teams on new product introductions and continuous improvement activities.CAM Software Proficiency : Use CAM software to program new and existing parts, optimizing tool cutting paths and validating NC codes generated from CNC programs.Fixture Design : Design work-holding fixtures for machining parts and create set-up sheets for efficient manufacturing processes.Troubleshooting : Resolve programming and machining issues as they arise, working closely with engineering and set-up technicians.Project Support : Assist with engineering, manufacturing, and quoting as needed.Qualifications:Education : High school diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational training.Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with CNC Swiss Lathe or Mill machining and programming.Technical Skills : Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, knowledge of CNC controls, and mastery of G and M code.Operational Skills : Ability to set up, program, and operate Swiss machines with minimal assistance. Familiarity with AS9100 requirements and safety procedures.Problem-solving : Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to perform mathematical calculations related to machining processes.Attention to Detail : Keen eye for detail, ensuring top-quality output and adherence to specifications.Physical Requirements : Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. as required.Desired Qualifications:Proven experience in CNC Swiss machining processes and programming.A minimum of 4 year’s experience as a CNC programmer.Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams in engineering and manufacturing.
