Blind Care Foundation - a successful provider of Inclusive digital IT solutions and systems is looking for an Accessibility Engineer.The Accessibility Engineer will advise our clients on how to make their digital offerings conform with the standards of accessibility and maximize the usability for users with disabilities. An emphasis will be placed on evaluating the accessibility of Web technologies, mobile accessibility, and native applications using internationally recognized standards, guidelines and techniques. The successful candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and demonstrate the ability to prioritize and multi-task a variety of demanding assignments.ResponsibilitiesResolve complex technical problems remotely and in the field.Evaluate major product sales opportunities and assist by providing product configuration guide specifications and sales support as required.Assist in attainment of annual sales targets within the approved departmental expense budgets.Assist in live demos and presentations to customers and consultants. Local and in-state travel required minimum 30% of the time.Perform accessibility evaluations of web pages, desktop applications, mobile apps, and other emerging platforms.Intelligently apply accessibility testing tools, use assistive technology, and perform expert manual analysis of client products.Clearly document your accessibility findings and recommendations for our clients.Participate in occasional accessibility training to clients, virtually and on-site as warranted.Answer accessibility-related questions from clients to ensure our insights are actionable.Provide ongoing “agile” accessibility development support to our Help Desk.Keep up to date with the latest developments in the field of accessibility.Collaborate with other team members to deliver the best solution for the client.Represent BlindCare Foundation proudly at industry conferences and via social media, where appropriate.Desired Experience, Skills and QualificationsTechnical degree or related work experience. Academic background a plus.3 to 5 years of working experience in the accessibility field a plus.Must have in-depth knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1).Knowledge of accessibility techniques in native mobile applications.Should have experience with assistive technologies across multiple platforms, including screen readers, magnification, and read-aloud tools.Must have effective working experience with a variety of accessibility verification tools, assistive technologies, and accessibility standards.Must be able to quickly adapt to new accessibility tools.Proven ability to work independently with customers and resolve complex technical issues.Excellent verbal and written communication skills including influencing and persuading internal and external customers, listening effectively, and soliciting input from others.Advanced ability to use Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Excellent organizational skills: handle multiple demands and assignments, prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently, and manage resource procurement and utilization.The Accessibility Engineer is regularly exposed to a general office environment. Additionally, there will be opportunity for the Engineer to travel to the customer site for sales and software installation support.Mailing address for resumes
