A leading midstream company in the oil & gas industry is seeking a

SCADA Systems Specialist

to maintain and support the design, installation, testing, and implementation of SCADA systems. The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of Geo SCADA system configuration, administration, and SCADA industry standards. Working collaboratively, this role will enhance operational efficiency by ensuring data visibility and accessibility while resolving SCADA system issues and supporting field personnel with communication challenges.Responsibilities:

Develop/Comprehend specifications for various Operational Technology (OT) hardware equipment such as switches, firewalls, routers, servers, media converters, and patch panels.Solicit software and hardware quotations from manufacturers and vendors as required.Develop control system logic using various programming languages, including Structured Text, Ladder Logic, Sequential Function Charts, Function Blocks, and Instruction List.Interface with field technicians, Network group, and Control Center to troubleshoot data and communication problems between the remote RTU/PLC and the SCADA environment.Coordinate with local control systems engineer, if available, for projects integration and screen deployments.Maintain and support server hardware and software configurations specific to the enterprise SCADA system.Troubleshoot SCADA software and server issues.Poll for missing meter data in the Measurement system.Support field-based communications systems utilized by the SCADA system to ensure communications failures are at a minimum.Build graphic displays for control center and other end users to support pipeline operations.Add devices to ACM to acquire data from remote RTU/PLC site.Extract data from SCADA System for report and exports.Able to work SCADA Team on-call rotation.Maintain and adhere to required trainings, policies, and procedures.Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives.Communicate with partnership control centers, business groups, and other operating groups, as necessary.Comply with company safety policies and procedures.Must maintain valid driver’s license in state of residency.Must live within 45 minutes of plant site to accommodate call outs.Work assigned shift and be available for overtime if needed.Perform related duties and responsibilities as required and other duties as assigned.Comply with all company and client health, safety, security and environmental (HSSE) standards as well as federal and local HSSE regulations.Maintain honest, respectful, and effective internal and external working relationships.Complete all training as directed by management.Report to the SCADA Supervisor & Manager.Follow defined guideline using some independent judgment with minimal supervision once training completed.Requirements:

5+ years of SCADA experience in the oil and gas industry required; 10+ years preferred.Bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering preferred but not required.Experience with polling software such as Autosol (ACM) products desired.Experience working in a medium to large company Gas and Liquid control environment preferred.Extensive knowledge of Geo SCADA system configuration and administration, SCADA industry standards for documentation, basic regulatory and discrete control is required.Must be knowledgeable in reading and developing process control drawings, electrical and instrumentation Cause and Effect Diagrams, as well as specifications and control narratives.Experience with networking and communications concepts in a real-time environment desired.Working knowledge of SCADA system.Working knowledge of TCP/IP and Modbus protocols and network topologies.Supervisory Controls and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s), Human Machine Interface (HMI), Operator Interface Terminals (OIT’s), Industrial communication networks set up and testing and assistance in start-up and commissioning.Working knowledge of all wireless communications.Excellent organizational skills.Exhibit good project management and communications skills.Mechanical aptitude with ability to learn and perform operation and maintenance tasks associated with various types of facilities and equipment.Proficiency with computers including MS Office applications such as Excel and Outlook as well as other computer-based work training, time reporting, expense reporting, and on-line work applications and documentation.Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to work independently and exercise good judgement.Work independently and in a small team environment as the job requires.Maintain attention to detail required.Maintain first-level of technical leadership, considered the SME, capable of managing complex tasks or projects with no supervision.Analyze data to solve problems required.Perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness.Build, configure, and maintain reports.Write simple scripts and SQL queries required.Maintain willingness to step outside “comfort zone”, learn and participate in other areas of the department when needed.Follow defined procedures.Maintain a positive “service-oriented organization” attitude required.Maintain excellent communication skills and work with a wide range of personalities.Provide good diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities which is required.Maintain organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and multiple projects.Develop and troubleshoot Excel-based macro programs and equations.Analyze statistical data presented in various formats.Must be able to react to high stress/emergency situations in a deliberate, thoughtful, and timely manner.
