Full-time, PermanentOpen to Relocation100% onsitePosition Overview:The SCADA Systems Specialist plays an important role in the programming, design, implementation, and maintenance of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems used in controlling a natural gas pipeline and compressor stations. This position involves ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of SCADA systems, design and development of SCADA system enhancements and upgrades, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize day-to-day activities in Gas Control, software reliability and data management.Although industry-specific experience is not a requirement, experience in control systems is a must. The candidate should be capable of adapting quickly to the operational environment and can work independently. We are looking for a candidate who can provide immediate value and contribute critical business operations from day one.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems software and hardware.Work with IT, Engineering and Operations staff to ensure reliable and secure communications between SCADA systems and devices installed in the field. Troubleshoot communications issues as they arise.Ensure the SCADA technical environment maintains a high level of cyber security and meets all regulations and requirements.Deploy patches to servers and workstations associated with the SCADA system, ensuring system continuity and troubleshooting of any abnormal functions.Support Gas Control operations, responding to critical system issues providing timely resolutions. Responds to critical issues which may occur outside of normal business hours.Interface with Engineering and Operations for the design and build process of new infrastructure and the replacement of existing stations.Research, develop and implement future considerations for system configuration, hardware, software, and processes.Key Responsibilities:Manage, monitor, and maintain SCADA systems ensuring reliable and accurate real-time data for gas transmission operations.Troubleshoot and resolve any system faults or disruptions impacting operational efficiency.Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to enhance system performance and implement system upgrades or new technologies.Analyze SCADA data and provide insights into operational optimization, reliability, and regulatory compliance.Develop, configure, and maintain control system applications and interfaces.Ensure system security, data integrity, and compliance with industry standards.Work with vendors and third-party service providers to support system upgrades and troubleshooting.Provide training and technical support for internal staff as necessary.Ensure compliance with safety and operational protocols.Required Qualifications:Proven experience supporting SCADA or other process control system.Proficiency in SCADA software platforms (e.g., Citect Plant SCADA, Telvent, Wonderware, Ignition).Knowledge of industrial automation protocols (e.g., Allen Bradley, Modbus, OPC, DNP3).Experience supporting technologies such as Windows Server, networking fundamentals, remote access and support tools.Knowledge of relational database design - Microsoft SQL Server, Knowledge of relational database design - MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle DatabasesUnderstanding of network design and cybersecurity principles for SCADA systems.Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards are a plus.Experience in project management, client-server system and support, design and support of Object Oriented and distributed systems.Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining system reliability.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Effective communication and teamwork abilities.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with programming & designing SCADA systemsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field is preferred, though not required.Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply immediately!Along with a polished resume, kindly include your salary expectations and any relevant references.Join us at Lighthouse Professional Services, where excellence meets opportunity!
