This position will architect, design, and evaluate hardware and software solutions to specifications meeting customer and departmental needs. This position will work as a backup to the Senior Infrastructure System Administrator, as needed. Participates in the overall functions of the ACM Global Information Technology Department as well as those of the Infrastructure Team. Works closely with the Rochester Regional IS&T Systems and Network Engineering teams, leveraging 3rd level support, best practices, and systems where applicable to the ACM business units.STATUS:

Monday - Friday; 9:00 AM - 5:00 PMATTRIBUTESBachelor's degree or five years of equivalent IT experience.Minimum of 5-7 years of previous computer, server, and network equipment experience (Windows Server Operating Systems, Cisco Systems, Switching, Routing, VPN, Firewalls, Structured Cabling, etc.)Experience with virtual server environments, preferably VMware, vSphere.Strong analytical skills.Strong communication skills.RESPONSIBILITIESInfrastructure Support:
Attends and contributes to regular IT Infrastructure Systems Engineering Team meetings. Interacts with all levels of Information Technology customers (staff, management, and administration). Works ACM Infrastructure incident and service request tickets from Ivanti. Provides complex infrastructure engineering support for Information Services & Technology customers. Assists in the determination of customer needs for infrastructure products and systems. Provides server technical expertise on infrastructure projects or projects requested by the customer community. Responsible for new system implementations and system upgrades, including receiving and installation of server hardware and installation of Operating System software. Works with system vendors to resolve issues during a system installation or upgrade. Manages cloud-based Infrastructure services such as M.S. O365, AWS, Cisco Meraki. Advanced Microsoft Active Directory management, design, and support. Augments Systems Administrators with daily support duties and service desk incidents, request and onboarding of users.Vendor Management & Support:
Determines the need for, prepares, and presents demonstrations of infrastructure systems and products. Prepares customer cost estimates including initial purchase and lease costs, maintenance costs, supplied costs, as well as any other costs having an impact on either operating or capital budgets. Works with system vendors to resolve issues during a system installation or upgrade.Strategic Planning & Development:
Prepares internal use documentation and implementation instructions. Provides training to internal IT staff regarding new systems or changes to current systems. Acts as project leader on new projects and preventive maintenance projects. Investigates emerging technologies and provides expertise to management for feasibility of potential implementation into our infrastructure. Designs infrastructure solutions where data and applications can be managed in a secure and reliable environment. Evaluates new utilities to assist the team by providing new tools to increase productivity and provide better service to customers. Assists in the preparation of the Technical Services budget by submitting requirements for the next fiscal year. Monitors network equipment & servers for health, disk space, security, and overall performance, resolving issues that arise. Performs the installation, upgrading, and patching of all infrastructure-supported network hardware and communications software products. Prioritizes, tests, and applies server software service packs and patches as needed regarding security, functionality, and virus protection. Maintains a high degree of server engineering knowledge and overall computer expertise. Participates actively in interactions with applicable vendors regarding their products, services, and capabilities. Provides superior customer service. Participates in Infrastructure on-call rotation. Performs other duties as assigned.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:L - Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly; requires occasional walking, standing, or squatting.PAY RANGE:
