team! This position will report directly to the
Plant Manager
at our
Louisville, KY
location.The Chemical Safety Lead consults, analyzes, evaluates and makes recommendations to site management regarding facility, safety, security, and fire protection strategies. Develops and leads planning and resource allocation for successful implementation of specialized and routine projects emphasizing defect elimination. Interacts with internal and external resources to perform benchmarking to improve and expand site functional capabilities.The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:Serve as Process Safety Management Element Lead for Safe Work Practices and Hot Work.Responsible for implementation, communication and coordination of all safety, security, emergency response, and fire protection programs.Conduct investigations relating to all safety incidents, ensuring proper notification process is followed, providing analysis on root cause, and working with site management on corrective action.Analyze and direct supervisors on methods and approaches to resolve safety related concerns.Provide regular metrics and performance reporting to site.Ensure proper compliance of safety documentation in accordance with state and federal laws.Responsible for Training and PSM programs across the site.Act as the primary investigator on behalf of the site relating to all safety incidents.Manage all record keeping requirements of site team (state specific, OSHA, EPA, etc.).Research new regulations and developments in the field of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and implement.Demonstrate and promote felt leadership engagement and have an active physical presence across the site.Facilitate effective sharing of information across the organization as a whole. Create an atmosphere of awareness, engagement, and commitment to zero.The following is
required
for this role:Bachelor’s degree (in EHS or Engineering programs preferred, with preference to Safety, Security, or Fire Protection).Minimum 5 years’ experience in EHS&S (Environmental, Health and Safety & Security) Management.Independently proactive to ensure adherence to all EHS&S regulations while building and maintaining rapport with Operations, Technology, Maintenance, and Training organizations.Experience leading EHS improvement in chemical, complex, or high hazard operations – including Emergency Response, and PSM leadership.Ability to take initiative, self-manage, identify what is needed and take effective action to bring about change while demonstrating Chemours' core values.Exceptional and proven communication skills, both oral and written.Proficiency with analytical tools to help gather and analyze data.The following is
preferred
