Global chemical company seeks a Safety Manager for their Louisville area plant.
The Safety manager consults, analyzes, evaluates and makes recommendations to site management regarding facility, safety, security, and fire protection strategies. Develops and leads planning and resource allocation for successful implementation of specialized and routine projects emphasizing defect eliminate. Interacts with internal and external resources to perform benchmarking to improve and expand site functional capabilities.
Responsibilities include:
Serve as Process Safety Management Element Lead for Safe Work Practices and Hot WorkResponsible for implementation, communication and coordination of all safety, security, emergency response, and fire protection programsConducts investigations relating to all safety incidents, ensures proper notification process is followed, provides analysis on root cause, and works with site management on corrective actionAnalyzes and directs supervisors on methods and approaches to resolve safety related concernsProvides regular metrics and performance reporting to siteEnsures proper compliance of safety documentation in accordance to state and federal lawsActs as the primary investigator on behalf of the site relating to all safety incidentsManages all record keeping requirements of site team (state specific, OSHA, EPA, etc.)Researches new regulations and developments in the field of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and implementsDemonstrates and promotes felt leadership engagement and has an active physical presence across the siteFacilitates effective sharing of information across organization as a whole. Creates an atmosphere of awareness, engagement, and commitment to zero.Requirements:
BS CHE, Chemistry, Safety, Environmental, or related5+ years Safety and Security experience in chemicals or other process industriesExperience leading EHS improvement in chemical, complex, or high hazard operations - including Emergency Response, and PSM leadership
