Position Summary
The Safety Manager will oversee the development and implementation of occupational safety and health programs across two locations in the Greater Tampa Area, ensuring full compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards. This position requires a deep understanding of workplace safety protocols specific to heavy industry or manufacturing, solid regulatory knowledge, and a commitment to fostering continuous improvement in safety practices.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections focused on Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), implementing corrective actions where necessary to maintain safe conditions.
Support response activities during incidents, including conducting thorough investigations and reporting any injuries, property damage, or vehicular accidents.
Lead and participate in EHS audits, self-assessments, and comprehensive inspections.
Maintain detailed records and track performance metrics in alignment with regulatory and company standards.
Develop and deliver training programs on Safety and Environmental protocols to ensure ongoing compliance and elevate safety practices.
Contribute to planning and response activities for emergency preparedness.
Offer guidance to both management and employees on best practices for safety and regulatory compliance.
Assist in preparing and submitting permit applications and regulatory reports as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Natural Sciences, or a related field.
3–5 years of hands-on experience in Workplace Safety within a heavy industry or manufacturing setting.
Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations, with an emphasis on OSHA standards.
Familiarity with accident prevention strategies, proper usage of protective equipment, and fire prevention methods.
EPA 608 and OSHA 609 certifications are PREFERRED.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Availability to work between multiple locations in the Greater Tampa Area.
Willingness to work Monday through Saturday, as needed
