Position Summary:
Responsible for planning and executing database upgrades, applying patches and fixes, and working with the Reporting and Analytics team by performing regular maintenance tasks to keep the database systems up-to-date and running smoothly. They will ensure that data is correctly stored and retrieved, and that it is available to authorized users. DBAs will often work with developers to design and implement new features and troubleshoot any issues as well.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Installing and configuring new database servers
Monitoring system health and security
Managing user accounts
Monitoring and troubleshooting database performance
Planning and executing database upgrades
Applying patches and fixes
Performing regular maintenance tasks
Developing processes for optimizing database security
Setting and maintaining database standards
Managing database access
Performance tuning of database systems
Installing, upgrading, and managing database applications
Qualifications:
Familiarity with database design, documentation, and coding
Experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third party tools
Familiarity with programming languages API
Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically
Understanding of database languages such as SQL
Strong analytical and math skills
Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
DBAs should also have experience with administrative and accounting procedures, and knowledge of healthcare regulations and medical law.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or Management Information Systems (MIS) or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
2-5 years of Database Administrator experience
Certificates and Licenses:
Additional certification (Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or an Oracle Certified Professional is a plus)
