Essential Function
The IT Manager is responsible to lead and manage a network team to ensure optimal performance and reliability of network infrastructure. The IT Manager will be responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and modification of both local and wide area network systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align solutions with business needs, and proactively addressing network issues to enhance customer experience and minimize disruptions. They will develop comprehensive network plans and policies, providing end-user support, evaluating new technologies, ensuring licensing conformity, and supporting disaster recovery efforts.
Primary Duties
Actively align with business and IT partners to prioritize needs and maximize system functionality to contribute to organizational strategy and governing compliance standards.
Leads a network team to ensure optimal performance and reliability of network infrastructure, including hiring, training, mentoring, and evaluating team members. Develops team goals, provides regular performance feedback, and fosters a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Implement new technologies and enhancements in alignment with defined company strategies and with strict adherence to defined project management procedures. Oversee multiple, concurrent projects which can be large and/or complex. Coordinate with PMO to modify procedures as needed to maximize effectiveness and controls.
Oversee, control and evaluate operations of assigned applications and computer systems, following policies and practices as defined for system access, testing, change management, and advancement to production. Continuously evaluate policies and practices for improvement opportunities to meet best in class standards.
Contribute to creating the annual department budget and ensure cost effectiveness of all assigned activities.
Audit systems and assess their outcomes to ensure security of data, network access and backup systems of assigned areas in compliance with defined IT Security policies and practices.
Manages the installation, maintenance, monitoring, and modification of the organization’s local and remote wide area network system. Regularly provides guidance and acts as a lead to other employees.
Evaluates and recommend hardware, software, and data communication equipment solutions to optimize network efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proven working experience as an IT Network Infrastructure Manager or relevant experience.
Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems such as:
Cisco products, Palo Alto, Fortinet, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, desktop operating systems, and server hardware troubleshooting.
Network monitoring systems and Firewalls.
Micro-segmentation technologies.
SSL VPN, MPLS, AVPN, SDWAN.
Wireless technologies.
VOIP.
Private/Public Cloud Networking Solutions.
Leadership and organizational skills.
P&L management.
Problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage personnel supported by formal supervisory experience.
BS/BBA in Computer Science, MIS or similar field or equivalent work experience.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
