Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities
What We're Looking For:We're searching for an Associate Director of Government Compliance who will take the helm as the primary liaison with government auditors. In this role as the government compliance subject matter expert, you'll seamlessly collaborate with all departments across Iridium, ensuring our adherence to Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), FARs, DFARs and established processes and procedures, all while maintaining compliance with stringent government regulations and internal controls. You'll be the primary liaison with DCAA and oversee a team responsible for ensuring the timely completion of various government submissions. You will continue to help Iridium foster continued growth and development while upholding our regulatory commitments.
What You'll Do:Foster a develop a highly effective team responsible for maintaining compliance of government programs
Mentor and train your team by evaluating employees' performance, recognizing areas for improvement, and providing reliable solutions to problems that may impact your team's effectivenessCoordinate and execute a comprehensive U.S. Government compliance plan to ensure continued contractual compliance with all relevant federal provisions.Provide compliance guidance to the accounting, contracts, and procurement, and other business organizations as necessary.Oversee updates to CAS Disclosure statements reflecting current accounting practices and oversee development/monitoring, submission and publishing of all rates, and Incurred Cost Submission.Provide necessary Government compliance training related to FAR, DFARS, CAS, etc.Utilize subject matter expertise to develop Government team expertise.Provide guidance on the setup and maintaining compliance for Accounting, Purchasing, Estimating, EVMS, GFP, and Materials management systems.Interface with DCAA, DCMA and other government representatives. Respond to government audits and coordinate corrective actions as necessary.Work with management to ensure appropriate cost structure for government business including rates, allocations, etc.Stay current on all government accounting regulations and keep the organization informed of relevant changes

What You'll Need to Succeed:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field12+ years of relevant experience in government accountingPrevious management experience leading compliance teams along with excellent relationships with internal customers and external customers and regulatorsExpert understanding of the FAR / DFARS / CAS and leading the development of policies, processes, and proceduresProven ability to assess, interpret, and appl government and industry standards, specification, and handbooks to the unique requirements of taskingHands on experience building indirect rate models, completing incurred cost submission, and updating disclosure statementKnowledge of accounting practices, pricing and contracts in a government contractor or project-based environmentExcellent communication skills, with the ability to convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues clearly and confidently, and confidently recognize and adapt to different communication techniquesCapable of being a strong motivator and source of direction for your team and role modelling commitment to your team's goalsHave a people-oriented mentality and be able to build valuable relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and executive leadershipThe ability to confidently present, convince others of your point of view, and tailor your communication style to a wide range of audiencesBe a strategic thinker who continuously looks for new and enhanced ways of doing thingsPossess the creativity, resourcefulness, and decisiveness needed to manage risks and respond to critical situationsHave a strong sense of urgency in driving projects to completion and be motivated to achieve outcomes and resultsCan manage multiple or complex projects while adhering to deadlines and budget limitationsWe'll also need you to

Work Environment:This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer.
