GENERAL FUNCTION:
Develops and maintains resource-loaded project schedules for new build and repair projects within the facility or company. Works under the direction of the Scheduling Manager.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities:Develop and maintain project schedules by working with the project team.Assign resources and budgets in the schedule with input from Engineering, Production, and Planners.Monitor yard capacity and manpower requirements.Receive, assess, and enter engineering and production progress in the project schedules, and analyze changes to the schedule after updating.Consult with the project team to ensure appropriate inventory is available for production purposes.Assist with reviews of schedule-produced resource loading and convey information to HR and Production Management to fulfill schedule labor requirements.Create and issue weekly schedule status reports, including Schedule software outputs, excel reports, etc.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Sound basic knowledge of the principles and best practices for scheduling per industry and government standards.Ability to enter, maintain, and generate accurate data and reports.Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints.Ability to maintain effective working relationships.Considerable knowledge of the creation and use of Build Strategies, Master Schedules, Product Work Breakdown Structures, Budgeting, Resource Loading, and Detailed Scheduling, or the ability to acquire it quickly.
EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
College degree in a related technical field preferred. High school education or equivalent supplemented by coursework or technical training in production management is acceptable.Experience with Commercial Shipbuilding software (Primavera) is required.Professional level experience in scheduling or production planning, or any combination of experience and training that results in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
