The College Health Nurse oversees the day-to-day functions of the medical clinic in Chesley Health and Wellness Center (CHWC), the integrated health center serving Illinois College students. This position serves as the lead medical contact person on campus and works collaboratively with an upper-level provider and/or physician in administering nursing care to the students on campus. Additionally, the College Health Nurse implements Health and Wellness initiatives, protocols, and activities for the campus community as well as partnering with colleagues within the Student Life division on initiatives and programs.

Essential Functions:The following list of duties is meant to be representative of the work performed in this position. The omission of a specific duty or responsibility will not preclude it from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical extension of position responsibilities.Provide direct acute nursing care for studentsAssist upper level medical provider with procedures during ClinicMaintain student health records and clinical documentationComply with all federal, state, and local compliance health regulations and reportingCommunicate with students about questions, concerns, and health care informationAct as a resource and collaborate in the organization and development of wellness activities to include: convocations, health fairs, resident hall specific programs, group presentations, and health publicationsAssist in coordinating vaccination/immunization clinics on CampusImplement surveys (ie. CORE, ACHA-NCHA, patient satisfaction, etc) to collect valuable health and wellness dataParticipate in the College's Emergency Preparedness Group; assist in establishing policies, procedures and protocols during emergenciesManage the institutional membership of the American College Health Association (ACHA)Act as a Liaison with external health partners (ie. MCHD, IDPH, MCEMA, etc)Participate on Campus Committees, as requested (ie. IC Alcohol and Other Drug, IC Title IX, Commencement, etc)

Qualifications:Registered Nursing License in the State of IllinoisBachelor's of Science in NursingMinimum 5 years experience as an RNPreferred: Knowledge of and experience with educational settingsIntercultural competency; ability to work well with individuals of diverse backgrounds
