In this position you will plan, coordinate direct and control all outside operations within the Intermodal terminal ensuring trains are received, loaded and/or unloaded on time and in accordance with the policies, guidelines and established plans and priorities while meeting on-time performance and minimizing cost.Responsibilities: Applicants should possess strong communication, leadership, and planning abilities to ensure that we meet the contractual obligations of our customers. Assigns equipment as needed. Responsible for maximizing efficiency and profitability. Oversees shift operations Plans and executes loading and unloading of railcars to meet train availability and release times. Authority to take a team members out of service for not meeting requirements Monitors employee's compliance and uses discretion to take appropriate action related to the following: Parsec Safety rules, compliance regulations, Operating procedures, and vehicle compliance. Coordinate with other departments to discuss and resolve any outstanding issues/questions. Supervises shift Equipment Operators, Hostler Drivers, and Groundmen to ensure that we meet our operational goals. This position is a 12-hour shift, 3 days on, 4 days off and then 4 days on, 3 days off Applicants must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays that fall on your rotation.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:•Possess strong communication, leadership, and planning abilities to ensure that we meet the contractual obligations of our customers.•Identifying and implementing process improvements and cost-saving initiatives to enhance the overall efficiency and profitability of the intermodal department.•Direct yard processes to safely meet train schedules, desired targets, customer, and dispatch needs.•Accountable for delivering instructions for train movements within terminal to Operating crews.•Monitoring and tracking intermodal shipments to ensure they are moving according to schedule and resolving any issues or delays that may arise.•Coordinate all trains, yard, hostler, lifter, and truck movements within the yard.•Plans and executes loading and unloading of railcars to meet train availability and release times.•Monitor employee's compliance and uses discretion to take appropriate action related to the following: Parsec Safety rules, compliance regulations, Operating procedures, and vehicle compliance.•Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and properly communicated to those who require the information as well as the next Supervisor Operations on shift.•Resolve non-compliance crew issues and/or opportunities for process improvement or escalate to manager as appropriate.•Supervise Equipment Operators, Hostler Drivers, and Groundmen during shift to ensure that we meet our operational goals.•Coordinating with various departments within the company, such as dispatch, customer service, and maintenance, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.•Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all intermodal shipments, including billing, invoices, and delivery receipts.•Collaborating with vendors, suppliers, and third-party logistics providers to ensure the timely and cost-effective movement of intermodal shipments.•Conducting regular performance evaluations of intermodal operations staff and providing feedback and coaching for improvement.Qualifications:•Strong interpersonal skills•Ability to lead and teach a team•Great attention to detail•Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills•Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms•Excellent organizational skillsEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Intermodal: 1 year (Preferred)Parsec is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against applicants or employees on the basis of race, color, religion, gender (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), genetic information, national origin, ancestry, age, physical or mental disability, legally protected medical conditions, family care status, veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other basis protected by local, state, or federal laws.#LightYearsAheadPay Range: $1,325 per week
