Cole Haan's Sr. Designer of Store Design, will report to the Director of Store Design and support consumer led global retail concepts and the evolution of the Cole Haan retail business.
The Sr. Designer of Store Design will create and develop impactful / scalable design solutions for immersive retail enviroments. This designer will collaborate with internal and external design teams to complete individual projects by leveraging design processes and best practices to ensure the creative intent, design deliverables, timelines and budgets are met. We are looking for someone who shares our drive and agility to explore the new; who is passionate and determined to create boundary-breaking experiences.
In this role, you will create, refine and evolve the design (specifically: Fixture details, drawing standards, construction process]components across all the Cole Haan stores portfolio. This postion requires a forward thinking, detail oriented design minded creative, that builds from the global creative direction for design development and generates implementation standards for consistent execution throughout the fleet. You will work with a team to develop and manage all architectural and 3D environmental components, thinking of the needs of the global Consumer, the Cole Haan brand and our Buisness partners. You will communicate and present design concepts to the Director of Stores, create 3D models, 2D drawings, presentations and details that effectively communicate design intent.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITES
Supports and partners with Sr Director of Store Design, Global Retail team members, Creative Director to execute project vision. Ensures project goals and priorities align with Cole Haan retail brand and business strategies. Develops presentation materials that effectively communicate design concepts to all levels of leadership and global partners. Collaborate with peers, design counterparts, internal partners (Brand, Retail Brand, Brand Creative, Digital, Brand Comms etc.) and external partners to ensure feasibility of designs and functional needs are met. Actively gain knowledge and experience regarding Cole Haan's developing design ethos, the Cole Haan matrix, products and processes. To be a collaborator working across project teams and retail design org. Fosters innovative thinking, collaboration, and teamwork. Understand design processes to ensure results, timelines and budgets are met. Develop test fit fixture layouts Review fixture shop/engineering drawings Review construction documents Create presentation decks Minimum of 7+ years of progressive, technically sophisticated design experience in architectural, experiential or brand design and a demonstrated ability to apply these skills in ways that elevate brand excellence. Bachelors/master's degree in, architecture. Or environmental design, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Showed strength in operating in a design studio in the delivery of progressively complex projects of scale, budget, and size. Proven track record of good judgment and ability to contribute meaningfully to the determination of policy and strategy. Proven track record of managing ambiguity, and effectively collaborating in the creation process. Tried expert in applying and performing design skills, including concepting, drawing/sketching, typography, ideation, color theory, texture, and spatial design in scale, visual presentation development and space planning layouts. Proven ability to work independently as well as guide teams across a mix of complex projects. Knowledge of and sensitivity to current trends in color, design, art, photography and experience design and their application to the athletic industry. Expert oral and written communication and presentations skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations to senior management. Ability to work cooperatively across cross functional teams globally to share ideas and develop effective responses. Proven ability to work in a constantly evolving, high-growth environment. Positivity and eagerness to do great work in a team environment Ability to manage multiple and competing work priorities, demands and changes. Demonstrated expertise using computer design applications including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, V-Ray, Figma, Keynote and Adobe Creative Suite.
Base Salary Range:
$100,000 - 120,000* annually + bonus potential
Bonus Eligibility:
Yes, eligible for annual target bonus based on company and individual performance
