Telecom Project Manager

Job Summary:
The Telecom Project Manager will oversee circuit provisioning projects across IP, Voice, and Data departments. The focus will be on ensuring timely installation of all components for circuits and equipment, supporting both main campuses and installations across the metropolitan area. The role requires collaboration with vendors, clients, and internal teams to meet project deadlines effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate provisioning activities with clients, vendors, management, and internal teams.
• Interface with clients to discuss technical details, order status, and resolve issues.
• Prepare and distribute RFIs and RFPs to service vendors.
• Evaluate RFIs and RFPs and provide recommendations to management.
• Prepare documentation and reports, including project status and due dates.
• Conduct project meetings to track progress and address issues.
• Supervise vendors to ensure project compliance and performance.
• Conduct site surveys to determine installation requirements such as pathways, electrical needs, and space.
• Place circuit orders and equipment requests with vendors.
• Manage orders for E-Line, SIP/MPLS, Dark Fiber, PRI, and DS1 lines.
• Provide weekly status updates to stakeholders.
• Coordinate field technicians, client expectations, and building access.
• Resolve discrepancies between vendors, clients, and telecommunications teams.
• Oversee circuit testing and acceptance before turning over to network groups.
• Prepare billing documentation through the Telecommunications Chargeback system.
• Maintain and update relevant databases with project information.
• Ensure regular attendance and perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Experience managing telecom projects, focusing on circuit provisioning.
• Knowledge of IP, Voice, Data, E-Line, SIP/MPLS, and PRI services.
• Strong experience interfacing with clients and vendors on project matters.
• Ability to conduct site surveys and assess installation needs.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple projects.
• Proficiency in vendor management and supervision.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with telecom chargeback systems and billing processes.
• Familiarity with circuit testing and acceptance procedures.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification.
Certifications:
• PMP certification preferred.
