The Senior Director, Product Management provides the vision, expertise and leadership needed to lead product development.

Job Description

The Senior Director, Product Management provides the vision, expertise and leadership needed to lead product development initiatives from concept through delivery. The Senior Director Product Management is responsible for the development of product oriented project management standards and methods that will be used by project managers to facilitate product development initiatives.

The Senior Director Product Management is responsible for supporting and enabling the IT organization's projects/programs/portfolios and structured work efforts. The Senior Director Product Management will provide product development methods and leadership for the IT organization that includes but is not limited to ideation, prototyping, design, development, testing, launch and ongoing maintanence. IT project managers will use the methods and guidance provided by the SR Director Product Managment to successfully manage IT product development initiatives.

This role is a strategic member of the information technology leadership team. Incumbent is accountable for product management, project management, product quality, tracking, communication, and the successful outcome of initiatives assigned to this role.

This position offers a base salary of $142,100.00 up to $189,400.00. Final salary is determined by required qualifications, experience, and education for this role.

Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Product Management or related field or equivalent experience is required

•Master’s degree in computer science, information management or business administration, preferred.

•Ability to provide IT product leadership to cross-functional teams and manage direct reports when assigned.

•Minimum 7 years of agile software product development experience with demonstrated progression in responsibility and accomplishments with at least 4 years of team management.

•Demonstrated experience in developing product management and project management.

•Extensive experience demonstrated in developing, implementing, and maintaining product solutions.

•Demonstrated experience leading a team of business analysts, developers, testers and support staff through the Agile Software Development Life Cycle.

•Demonstrated experience creating technical documentation and Microsoft Office 365.

•Demonstrate advanced knowledge of good product development practices and standards.

•Ability to listen to the customers, respond to business requirements, develop progressive relationships with stakeholders.

•Ability to recognize issues in existing software, create improvement plans, and execute those plans.

•Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment.

•Strong critical thinking, operations and systems analysis, and problem-solving skills.

•Effective communication skills and the ability to work with and talk to end users.

Essential Functions

•Leads the identification and implementation of product management processes, methods, tools, guidelines and standards to establish a stable framework that supports all project teams and stakeholders to improve the probability of successful project delivery.

•Facilitates among the IT product stakeholders and organizational leadership a consensus around the mission and vision of a product-management-oriented culture and mindset.

•Engages senior leadership and business partners to ensure a product development goals and operating model continuously add expected value to the organization.

•Builds and maintains relationships with senior leadership and key product stakeholders, as a trusted advisor.

•Builds consensus and commitment for achieving the organization’s vision.

•Direct and manage direct or cross-functional teams of technology professionals and vendor partners by organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments.

•Remove impediments, ensure cross team communication and cohesion, and provide framework for continuous improvement for both supported products and the processed used to develop them

•Work directly with the team leads and managers to conduct business requirements and documentation reviews.

•Work closely with cross-functional managers to ensure delivery of the product with the agreed upon features by the agreed upon target dates

•Actively participate on the IT leadership team, be engaged in all things IT and support the IT Strategy and the office of the CIO.

•Manages a disciplined vetting system for prioritizing and adding new projects.

•Consults with end-users, clients, and business stakeholders for the purpose of design and implementation of new systems and maintenance and trouble-shooting problems with existing systems

•Works with vendors, partners, and all stakeholders to achieve strategic outcomes

•Other duties as assigned
