This is a Sherman Associates owned Marriott International, Inc franchised location.

A Housekeeper is responsible for the operations of cleaning rooms, public space cleaning, laundry production and other related areas of the hotel. Work closely with the Housekeeping Supervisor to cover days off and train staff, help with scheduling and other duties as assigned.

Clean guest rooms in accordance with established quality and performance standards to allow a sufficient quantity of vacant and clean guest rooms for saleReport, turn in, all lost and found items from guest rooms, and throughout hotelEnter guest rooms following procedures for gaining access and ensuring vacancy before enteringReplace dirty linens and towels with clean items, make beds and fold towels, and clean bathroomsReplace guest amenities and supplies in roomRemove trash, dirty linen, and room service itemsCheck that all appliances are present in the room and in working orderStraighten desk items, furniture, and appliancesVacuum carpets and perform floor care duties (e.g., in guest rooms and hallway)Dust, polish, and remove marks from walls and furnishingsOrganize and stock cleaning cart and organize linen closets on floors assignedPerform other duties as requested (i.e. cleaning unexpected spills; executing special guest requests)Report/communicate any maintenance needs found in guest rooms while cleaningAssist other housekeeping associates in maintaining clean and organized work and public areasAnticipate customer needs with the ability to change goals and direction quicklyMaintains customer service and excellent relations with guests, visitors, vendors and other external or internal organizationsComply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areasMeet standards for room completion with quality resultsExperience and SkillsMinimum Requirements

No prior housekeeping experience required; Customer service experience in the hospitality industry strongly preferredMust be at least 18 years of ageAbility to communicate effectively and follow directions in a multi-lingual environmentMust maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearanceA passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman AssociatesSchedule may vary due to the specific needs of the hotelEnsure compliance with brand standards, federal, state and local hotel laws regarding health and safety services
