Job Summary:
Primarily responsible for customer, market, and consumer analytics and insights, as related to Kroger. Activities include the development of actionable consumer insights to drive strategic goals and results. Will contribute analysis and insights in the development of an overall understanding of key categories and sub-categories. Also, will analyze customer data and assist the team in scenario planning by providing category management and industry insights. Job will include interfacing with customer at presentations and reviews in support of the team and clients. The analyst will also be expected to collaborate with the team and clients in preparation of such reviews.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Work directly with the Business Manager(s) responsible for assigned Kroger clients. Analyst will be expected to attend meetings with Business Managers, clients, and Kroger and have ongoing dialogue with the salespeople and clients
Analyst should help drive category/client strategy using insights from POS, rest of market, and shopper data
Roles for this customer will include but not be limited to the following:
Working with Business Manager to obtain Category Influencer role where possibleConducting every day and seasonal client-specific and category analyses and attending business reviews with the business manager. Analyses should include an understanding of trends at the customer and with Shankman clients elsewhere and incorporate both POS and shopper data
Every day: Analysis should be completed prior to reviews in order to drive the selling strategies for clientsSeasonal: Analysis will include Valentine, Easter, Summer, Back-to-School, Halloween and Holiday event summaries as well as weekly performance reporting for participating clients throughout all seasonsProviding periodic analyses on every day and seasonal business, using reports and sell-thru tracking created by the Associate Analyst of Category Strategy. Analyses will be delivered to business managers and clients shortly following the period or season endSupporting the sales team through comprehensive selling stories, using syndicated, retailer-specific and shopper behavior dataMaintaining data files for assigned categories, including custom segmentations, distribution and facing information, and planogram recordsManaging inventory levels and distribution through gap analysis. Analyst will work with appropriate salespeople to ensure in-stock positions
Become a subject-matter expert for promotional, digital and loyalty marketing programs available from Kroger
Learn the details of these programs and successfully apply them to reach the marketing and promotional goals of our customers & clientsPrograms include, but are not limited to, BCC Events, Digital Coupons, Targeted Offers (coupons and ads) and moreCollaborate with Business Managers and Category Strategy teams to develop a strategic marketing support plan, maximizing effectiveness and efficiency, based on the current business situation unique to each clientPresent results from recent/previous events, key learnings & future recommendations
Travel: Analyst will be expected to attend meetings with key clients and the customer. Some travel to national shows and client visits may arise.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Finance, or other Business-related subject0-3 years of experience in Category Management or data analysisDemonstrated proficiency in analyzing data and identifying key pointsStrong attention to detail, as well as great adaptabilityAbility to function autonomously with strong attention to detail and time management skillsWillingness to embrace change and drive improvement and efficiencyAdvanced skills in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPointPreferred Qualifications:
Power BI and Microsoft Access experienceSpace planning experienceShopper data experience in 84.51 Stratum
