Job Description
A well Established Custom Machine Building Company are looking for a Mechanical Assembler
The firm - an established world-class custom machine building company, builds machines for industries critical to the infrastructure of our day-to-day lives.
The Mechanical Assembler is tasked with helping to build complex parts and machines that require individuals to apply their physical AND mental horsepower.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing drawings or instructions to understand specifications and planning the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job in the allotted time.
- Assembling machines/equipment with proper attention quality, efficiency and productivity.
- Proper positioning, alignment and leveling of steel beams, bedplates, machinery and/or equipment using blueprints, straightedge, levels transit, rules, plumb bobs, hoists, jacks, etc.
- Safely connect power unit to machines, and test unit to evaluate its mechanical operation.
- Capacity to shift schedule to work additional hours as required to meet deadlines
- Occasional travel overnight 2-4 weeks total per year.
Experience:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, belt systems, motors, and other industrial machine components.
- Ability to accurately use measuring instruments and tools.
- Strong math and analytical skills: measuring, making calculations, and applying general geometric concepts.
- Light machining/fabrication skills are a plus.
- Basic knowledge of machine shop operations.
- Use of ladder, overhead crane, scissor lift and forklift is required
