Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in government contracting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience using Unanet or Costpoint for accounting and financial management. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with government regulations, managing financial reporting, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.Key Responsibilities:Financial Management:
Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and government contracting standards.Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
Government Contracting:
Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, CAS, and other relevant regulations and standards.Prepare and submit indirect rate proposals, incurred cost submissions, and other required reports.Monitor contract compliance, billing, and revenue recognition.
Unanet/Costpoint Expertise:
Utilize Unanet or Costpoint to manage and analyze financial data.Provide training and support to other team members on Unanet/Costpoint functionalities.Continuously improve and optimize system processes and workflows.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.Analyze variances between actual results and budgets/forecasts, providing insights and recommendations.
Audit and Compliance:
Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with project managers, contracts, and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and contract compliance.Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in government contracting.Proficiency in Unanet or Costpoint is required.Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS, and other relevant regulations.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Deltek Costpoint is highly desirable.Prior experience in a government contracting environment.Knowledge of project accounting and cost accounting principles.
