Habitat for Humanity of Omaha is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Construction Accountant to join our accounting team. The Construction Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient management of financial resources through accurate cost analysis and reporting. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to our mission of providing affordable housing solutions to those in need. This position reports to the Controller.
Requirements
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage, mentor and develop the Procurement TeamEvaluate all existing procurement processes for efficiency and internal controls, working collectively with Construction and Accounting teams to streamline workflowsDevelop, maintain and reconcile annual and project-based budgets, forecasts and KPIs for the Construction DepartmentCollaborate with stakeholders to review financial performance and provide insight and recommendations for improvementPrepare and analyze monthly financial accounting reportsConduct thorough analysis of project costs, including materials, labor, and overhead expenses, to ensure accuracy and cost-effectiveness.Work collaboratively with on-site teams to oversee inventory tracking, implementing best practices to optimize inventory levels and minimize waste.Create ad-hoc financial reporting, as requested by various team membersContinuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, grant regulations, and organizational policies in all accounting activities.Collaborate closely with colleagues across departments, including project management, procurement, and finance, to achieve Organizational goals and objectives.Additional duties, as assignedQUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree in AccountingMinimum 5 years of experience in a Construction environment3-5 years direct management experienceStrong leadership skills and proven experience working in a collaborate team environmentPublic accounting experience is a plusExperience working in NetSuiteExperience working in BuilderTrend, Procore or similar construction management softwareStrong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately interpret complex financial data.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.Passion for the mission and values of Habitat for Humanity.
