The Network Administrator is a member of the Library & Information technology Services (LITS) division and is responsible for the wired and wireless network infrastructure that supports the academic mission at Trinity College. Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure, the Network Administrator will plan, develop, implement, and maintain all network systems hardware, software and related infrastructure, as well as define, audit, and assess strategic outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities:Design, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware, configuring and supporting the wired/wireless network and firewalls, and maintain network documentationDeploy, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware and equipment, configuring and supporting the wired/wireless network and firewalls, and maintain network documentationAudit and assess outcomes of network performance at Trinity: Devise methods for quantifying and enhancing performance of the network Assess statistics and produce reports to provide data enabling efficient and effective deployment and utilization of network resources. Validate reporting and network data. Provide additional reports and metrics for senior leadership as required Assist the Lead SecurityAnalyst, V-CISO and Managed SOC team with network security management to ensure continuity of security measures; research and recommend solutions to security problemsInstall updates to network equipment and software, including, but not limited to, operating systems, utilities and third-party productsProvide system maintenance, including monitoring and archiving of all logs, backing up configurationsStay abreast of modern networking technologies and strategies, including trainingWork with the Director of Networks and Infrastructure to: Evaluate and budget capital projects relating to network technology and services. Participate in the budget process for network technology replacement. Develop and maintain maps and policies regarding the allocation, replacement, and management of network technologies.Perform other related duties as assigned and based on departmental need.
