Sr. Enterprise Architect
on behalf of a large hospital/healthcare provider in Chicago, IL.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Enterprise Architecture (EA) Function Management:
Develops and drives the evolution and maturation of the EA strategy, services, and operating model.Manages the EA function, recruiting and developing key skills for the EA team and mentoring Enterprise Architects.Ensures close collaboration across all Enterprise Architects and extended team members.Identifies organizational requirements for resources, structures, and cultural changes necessary to support the EA function.Enterprise Architecture Strategy:
Understands the business's economic and financial levers, regularly monitoring technology and non-technology trends to identify gaps in IT strategy.Advises business and IT leadership on IT investments and strategies aligned with business outcomes.Develops critical strategic partnerships with business and external vendors, driving collaboration for vendor management across domains.Leads cross-value stream interactions with business leaders, product managers, and owners regarding risks and implications of product decisions.Enterprise Digital Modernization:
Provides vision and guidance for enterprise-wide planning on technology investments and emerging opportunities.Presents gap analyses of the IT landscape and advises IT leaders on risk incorporation into value stream planning.Communicates the "big picture" to align stakeholders with the enterprise architecture's target state and roadmap.Enterprise Governance:
Continuously improves the architecture governance model, maintaining policies and standards for consistent IT framework application.Drives adherence to architectural standards and best practices across the organization.Program & Project Delivery:
Drives problem-solving for high-priority, enterprise-wide delivery and architecture issues.Aligns EA services with IT finance strategy and project lifecycle planning to ensure consistency with the enterprise architecture.Architecture Project Delivery:
Oversees sharing of architecture best practices and governance throughout the architecture community.Assigns projects with IT infrastructure components based on size and complexity, working with HR to develop the skills of IT architects.Supervision:
Supervises third-party architecture consultants.Collaborates closely with Cyber Security and Infrastructure architects.QUALIFICATIONS
10+ years of IT architecture or business experience in strategic and operational planning or business analysis, covering at least three disciplines (business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, database management, etc.).5+ years of experience managing and mentoring teams of IT professionals, particularly architects.Expertise in Cloud or SaaS architecture and business ecosystems such as IaaS, iPaaS, PaaS, SOA, APIs, and microservices.Skilled in promoting architecture principles and influencing the adoption of technical and service-based solutions.Demonstrated knowledge in:
Enterprise architecture frameworks, governance standards, and architecture design across domains.Emerging technologies, business modeling, financial analysis, budgeting, risk management, and business case development.Agile and lean methodologies, DevOps, and continuous integration/delivery.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, consulting, and communication skills.Bachelors degreeEDUCATION
BS/BA in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
