The Opportunity:

Ohalo Genetics is seeking a motivated Director of Business Development to join our growing team. This person will support efforts to build and execute upon our commercial strategy and drive business growth through development and execution of commercial partnerships. The Director of Business Development will report to our CEO, Dave Friedberg, until we hire a Chief Commercial Officer, and work closely with product and legal teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies across crops and geographies.

Ohalo has developed a proprietary plant breeding technology, Boosted Breeding, which provides unprecedented improvements in crop yields that may otherwise take millennia to achieve with traditional breeding methods. Boosted Breeding has the potential to realize unimaginable productivity gains for farmers, improve humanity's access to calories, and reduce the global footprint of agriculture. The company is now deploying these technologies through partnerships with existing and emerging industry players at all points in the food and agriculture value chain. Ohalo is seeking a Director of Business Development with expertise and experience developing, executing, and supporting different partnership models in agriculture to help drive our growth.

Responsibilities:Roadmap Development and Commercial PlanningIdentify new crops and markets based on the unique value creation potential of Ohalo's technologies.Support the development and evaluation of different commercial strategies and go-to market models, by crop and geography.Commercial ExecutionSource and pitch potential partners on innovative and effective deal structures tailored to Ohalo's diverse partners and crops.Manage and coordinate necessary cross-functional support for negotiating and closing commercial transactions, including product roadmap development, technology feasibility assessments, financial modeling, and legal and regulatory support.Customer Success and Performance ManagementWork with our General Managers to support active partnerships, ensuring execution of objectives by both Ohalo and partner.Set and deliver budgets to achieve revenue objectives.Provide updated revenue forecasts and budgets to the Leadership Team and Board.Candidate Profile:

Minimum Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or related field;.Experience in the ag industry preferred with relevant functional experience in either sales, business development, technology licensing, investment, acquisition, or other corporate development functions.Desired Skills/Experience

Strong track record sourcing and closing business development transactionsExperience delivering on revenue objectives after partnerships are activeExperience building and managing a sales pipeline to close partnerships that deliver resultsHighly independent and proactive self-starter with high capacity for learning quickly.Efficient in self-managing deadlines, prioritizing assignments, and delivering outputs with high attention to detail.Proactive, confident, and with excellent communication skills; able to quickly build trusting relationships with a range of stakeholdersStrategic and analytical thinker who can distill complex scientific, technical or business problems to drive solutions.Ability to develop methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs and people.Skilled at building presentations and financial modelsMust be comfortable shifting between crops, geographies, and business models.Fluency in market analysis involving creative pursuit of information gathering and drawing compelling insightsCritical thinker
