We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a 911 Dispatcher in Owen County. The primary responsibilities of this position include receiving emergency calls from the public, accurately assessing the situation, and dispatching the appropriate emergency services including police, fire, and medical personnel.Key Duties and Responsibilities:1. Answer emergency calls from the public and gather essential information.2. Dispatch emergency services in a timely and efficient manner.3. Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers to assist with emergency situations.4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all calls and dispatches.5. Monitor radio communications and provide critical updates to emergency responders.6. Collaborate with law enforcement, fire departments, and medical personnel to ensure effective response to emergencies.7. Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of both callers and emergency responders.8. Provide support and assistance to emergency personnel in the field as needed.9. Maintain a high level of professionalism and composure in high-stress situations.10. Continuously update knowledge and skills through training and professional development opportunities.About us
The Owen County Communications Center is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.The Dispatchers work a 12-hour rotating shift:6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.or6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.In a two-week pay period, you work the following days:Week #1:
