We are excited to offer the opportunity for a Research Business Administrator II to join our team. This role is available for remote work and is potentially a temporary position with the chance to become permanent. Ideal candidates will possess substantial experience in handling grants and financial matters, particularly those who have previously managed research administrative portfolios or have worked within a university hospital environment. Experience working directly with principal investigators and managing NIH grants is highly desirable.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with a dedicated team of research administrators to support and oversee a sponsored research portfolio for our faculty and scientists at the Research Institute.Take charge of the fiscal and administrative elements of both federal and non-federal research grants. This includes crafting budgets for proposals, conducting financial reconciliation and forecasting, managing grant closeouts, and creating analytical reports for principal investigators (PIs) and other key stakeholders.Ensure all activities are compliant with company policies, federal and non-federal sponsor guidelines, including Uniform Guidance, and adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) where applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree is required. Preferred fields of study include accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.minimum of three (3) years of related experience in research administration and portfolio management is required, with five (5) years preferred.While not required, the Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification from the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) is preferred upon hire.Expertise in spreadsheet software (Excel).Capable of collaborating with stakeholders at all levels.Understanding of Uniform Guidance and strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.Proficiency in enterprise resource planning, financial, and human capital management software (Workday).Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.bility to work independently with a questioning attitude and proactively seek guidance when necessary.Comfortable using web-based tools and possess intermediate knowledge of budgetary principles, practices, and procedures.Must deliver outstanding customer service and effectively work within a team.
