What you'll do
Viasat is looking for a versatile, analytical, and results-driven Supply Chain Program Manager to support our Tempe location! This role reports to the Director of Supply Chain, and is responsible for all material planning and supply chain activities for a key customer (or set of customers) and the management of key or critical suppliers. As a SCPM, you will monitor and mitigate overall risk for all new programs and work to continuously improve current processes. This dynamic role will manage multiple, competing projects and priorities simultaneously. Our environment is very fast-paced, and requires someone who is flexible, diligent, and passionate about the customer and comfortable working with numerous stakeholders across the organization and worldwide in an environment that has a considerable amount of ambiguity.
The day-to-day
Identify and/or eliminate project-related barriers and risks for team members and partners.Manage suppliers through all phases of a product's lifecycle from contract execution, hardware design and development, ramp up through the end of production.Work closely with external suppliers and internal cross-functional partners in Program Management, Engineering, Legal, Finance and more to ensure high level supply chain performance on commercial programsAct as the main focal point within supply chain for assigned products/suppliers while maintaining internal and external supplier relationships. Present to the Program Management Office (PMO) and executive leadership on the status and issues affecting schedule performance and program cost.Coordinate and lead collaboration meetings with all supply chain functions (procurement, planning and material control) to ensure that all supply chain commitments are met, plans are developed and implemented, and risks are mitigated for assigned products/suppliers. This includes assessing complex procurements and breaking them down into manageable pieces, while communicating with cross-functional teams to allow them to deliver results in a successful and timely manner.Work with the supplier on meeting contractual requirements throughout a project lifecycle. This includes compliance to the program milestones and supplier deliverables outlined in the statement of work and other documents.Ensure the supplier can ramp up from design and development to production. This includes supplier resource planning, process development, capacity ramp up and material clear to build.Pull in operations resources for process development, technical support, and quality assurance.Track and manage supplier performance including risks, opportunities, problems, decisions, and schedules and report back to the program and supply chain leadership on supplier progress.What you'll need
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.10+ years of experience working with suppliers in a high-tech, space, or High Reliability environment.Be well versed and have a working knowledge of FAR/DFARs.Experience with preparing pricing for government proposalsExperience with contract management, project management, and supplier relationship management within a low volume high mix environment or complex environment.Experience working with contract manufacturers/electronics hardware manufacturing.Ability to lead in a matrix environment to achieve schedule, cost, quality targets.Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills including the ability to present to sr. managers and program leadership.Skilled user of Microsoft Office suite of business software is required: Word, Excel, Project and Power Point.US government position. US citizenship required.Ability to travel up to 25%.What will help you on the job
Experience with supplier development and/or top-tier supplier management.Project Management certification preferred.Technical degree preferred.Experience with ERP system, Oracle, or similar.Experience with PLM, Agile, or similar.
Salary range
$137,200.00 - $202,000.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $170,400.00- $238,600.00/ annually
