Description:
The driver of a school vehicle is responsible for the safe transport of students to and from their school activities. The vehicle must be operated within the laws of the state and the policies and procedures of the school district. The driver is responsible for students' safety any time they are being transported.
Requirements:High School Diploma or Equivalent PreferredValid CDL and valid NE school bus driver's license (District may support acquiring licensure for selected candidates)Safe driving recordBackground check clearancePrompt and dependable attendance to assigned routes and shiftsSuccessfully pass DOT physical, as required by lawHours:
School day, evening, and weekends as prescribed by student activities; shifts will be assigned and scheduled as needed by Activity Directors
Wage:
$25.00/hr
Essential Functions:
To maintain and promote the safe transportation of students and staff and the safe handling of school bus transportation vehicles, the activity route driver will:
Obey all traffic lawsObey and observe all mandatory school bus safety regulationsMaintain and prioritize student and staff safety anytime they are being transportedKeep the assigned schedule and routes for activity trips as outlined by the Activities DirectorDemonstrate professionalism on all in-district and out-of-district tripsTransport only authorized ridersEnforce all rules regarding bus rider behaviorMaintain discipline when students are on the bus and report behavior incidents to teacher/coach, Activities Director, or PrincipalMaintain a clean vehicle for all routes/shiftsNotify the Activities Director and/or District Maitenenance Coordinator immediately, in writing, of any vehicle mechanical defect or failureReport and submit all documents relating accidents and incidents to the proper authorities (Executive Director of Student and Business Services, law enforcement officials, school administrators, parents and guardians)Perform other duties as assigned by the Activities Director or administration
