JOB SUMMARY

The performance tools technician is responsible for the installation, commissioning, training, and support of NDS products such as ROCKit, REVit, and Z-Torque on 3rd party drilling contractors. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technician background in drilling operations, wellbore placement, EDR analysis, and troubleshooting skills. The role will work closely with the development team in reviewing surveys, deploying configurations, and commissioning of the products lines. This individual must be a team player, capable of handling support in high stress situations and willing to travel.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Survey rigs to understand equipment requirements for integration• Install hardware and software required to deploy NDS services• Troubleshoot on location or remotely when system is down or malfunctioning• Train rig personnel how to maintain equipment and properly use the software to maximize up time and drilling performance• Completing detailed service reports and safety documentation for each project• Contribute to development of best practices/standards

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS• 4 years' electrical / oil and gas industry experience• Advanced understanding of electrical systems and wiring• Ability to read electrical schematics and ladder diagrams• Basic understanding of VFDs and SCRs• Versed in windows software, a good understanding of networking, electronics• Familiarity with popular HMI systems• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally• Able to work rotation 2 weeks on 2 weeks off• Ability to work and stand for long periods of time.

TECHNICAL COMPENTENCIES• Experience working on different manufactures top drives• Experience with instrumentation systems• Experience with configuration and imaging of severs or virtual machines• Familiarity with popular fieldbus standards, especially Modbus and Profibus• Familiarity with EtherNet/IP, OPC, or other process control communications protocols• Experience troubleshooting fiber-optic communications• Experience with AB/Siemens/Omron technology• Ability to work with voltages from 600V to 24V

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and talk and hear. The employee is required frequently to use hands and digits to handle or feel work material. The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Lifting/carry up to 50lbs occasionally, 20lbs frequently, and 5 to 10lbs daily. Must be able to use/wear applicable personal protective equipment which may include but is not limited to safety-toed footwear (with ankle height support), back support belt, hearing protection, safety eye-wear with side shields, gloves and hard hat. May occasionally be required to wear approved/applicable respiratory protection equipment (respiratory protection guidelines would apply with regard to medical evaluation and fit testing of equipment). Will be required to work long hours and adapt to inclement weather conditions. This position will require 60%-70% travel. Frequent assent/decent of stairs/steps, especially at field locations. Must be able to respond quickly to an emergency situation.
