Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced
Lead Network Monitoring Engineer
with a background in Cisco Network Engineering for a great, long term engagement with US Federal Agency based in the Washington, DC area.
Key Responsibilities:
Serves as Lead Engineer over a small team focused on WAN network performance and monitoring tools to include the following: Client NNMi, Client Operations Orchestration, Client Network Automation, Derdack, Statseeker, CA eHealth Performance Manager, Cisco Lancope / Stealthwatch, Cisco Client / Client, Gigamon, Cisco Prime Assurance / Riverbed UCCX, Cisco UA-SEG Client, Aruba Airwave Management Platform, Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager, BomgarEnsure all security policies/GSP/IRM mandates are met/implemented correctly on network devices, best practices are implemented, new technologies deployed to meet agency needs, software levels are maintained, and global configurations are managed and updated.Will be responsible for ensuring the network is operating within all SLA's as defined by the vendors/and or government agency and take any appropriate actions to ensure all voice, video, and data are transported successfully.Responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, installing, and supporting LAN/WAN and Wireless networks.This will require after-hours on-call support for outages, system updates, etc.Qualifications:
10 years' experience, with 3 years as a Lead, and a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field OR 15+ years of experience with 3 years as a LeadExtensive experience in one or more of the following: Cisco based Routing, Switching, Unified Communications, Network Monitoring and Security.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.BW changesPolicy Updates (HPNA and Client)pplication changes and upgradesIP address changesResponse pathsdding or deleting sites and or network devicesMaking configuration changesUpgrading Operating SystemsUsing Standard PC Software - Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Access, PowerPoint, OutlookFISMA-Must be versed in FISMA Requirements ensuring full compliance and participate during all auditsDeveloping Alerting and Setting ThresholdsThis position requires US Citizenship and the ability to successfully obtain a US Federal Government clearance.
