Job Title: Maintenance Planner
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance and Reliability Manager
Job Summary:
Bingham & Taylor is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Maintenance Planner to join our dynamic team at our plant in Culpeper, VA. Playing acritical role in the Maintenance organization at Bingham & Taylor, the Maintenance Planner develops, organizes and documents the work order steps, resources, tools and materials necessary to safely and effectively facilitate maintenance work. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the planning and scheduling of job tasks for the maintenance department using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Other functions will include ordering parts, reviewing and planning work orders, coordinating and scheduling work orders, and collecting the required documentation. Fluency in English is required for this position, as effective communication is essential for successful job performance.
Key Responsibilities:Proactively plan maintenance activities one to four weeks ahead to ensure that resources and parts are prepared in advance.Purchase and organize parts required for Work Orders or Job Plans as part of the planning process.Assign engineering-related Work Orders or Projects to the Engineering team, who will then manage the planning, purchasing and resources allocation until the project is "Ready to Schedule."Independently plan, kit, and prepare non-engineering Work Orders or Job Plans to "Ready to Schedule" status.Concentrate on forward planning, ensuring that all necessary elements are in place for successful maintenance execution.Administer and schedule the Preventive Maintenance System (PMs) to ensure all maintenance activities are performed timely and effectively.Assist with emergency downtime situations as necessary.Qualifications:
Strong foundational knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.Minimum 5 years required experience as a Maintenance Planner or similar role.Minimum 3 years required working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).Must be self-driven, organized and be able to work in a fast-paced team environment with proper situational urgency.Demonstrated ability to work independently and execute objectives.Relevant experience as an industrial equipment mechanic and electrician, and/or Multicraft training.
Physical Requirements:
This position may require frequent bending, lifting, and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees should be able to perform this duty with or without reasonable accommodations.
