Position Overview:

The Director of Instructional Technology is responsible for integrating technology into the educational process to enhance learning outcomes. This position collaborates with instructional staff, district leaders, and external stakeholders to design, implement, and support technology solutions that align with the district's educational goals and curriculum. The Director ensures that staff are equipped with the tools, training, and resources necessary to leverage technology in the classroom.Key Responsibilities:Lead the development and implementation of a district-wide instructional technology plan.Collaborate with curriculum directors and school administrators to identify instructional needs and integrate technology solutions.Oversee the selection and implementation of educational software, platforms, and digital tools that enhance student learning and teacher effectiveness.Provide ongoing professional development and training for teachers, staff, and administrators in the use of technology for instructional purposes.Collaborate with IT staff to ensure the availability and functionality of instructional technology resources, such as smart boards, laptops, and other classroom technologies.Evaluate the effectiveness of instructional technology programs through data collection, assessment, and feedback from stakeholders.Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards related to student data privacy and technology use.Manage the instructional technology budget, including identifying funding sources and writing grant proposals.Stay informed on emerging educational technologies and trends and recommend new tools or practices to enhance instruction.Support blended learning, online learning, and digital curriculum initiatives.All other duties as assigned by the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent(s) and / or designee.Qualifications:Master's degree in Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, or a related field.092 Administrative Certification5+ years of experience in an educational setting, with a focus on technology integration and instructional design.Proven experience in managing technology-related projects in an educational context.Strong knowledge of digital learning tools, platforms, and emerging trends in educational technology.Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.Ability to design and implement effective professional development programs for educators.Additional Requirements:Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.Possession of a valid Connecticut Driver's license and proof of insurance.May require occasional work outside of standard business hours.Term of EmploymentFull-Year, non-union, 12 Month positionCompensation:Salary is commensurate with experience
