About the Role:

As the Backend Engineer I you will be part of our Engineering Department, reporting to the VP of Engineering. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Backend Engineer with 1-3 years of experience. This role focuses on production support, maintaining system stability, resolving production issues, and optimizing the overall system performance. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, debugging, and providing technical support for our backend systems.This role requires development skills in Java and SpringBoot. You will work closely with the engineering team to ensure the smooth operation of our applications and services.

Success in this Role Looks Like:

Monitoring system health and performance, identifying and resolving issues promptly to ensure uninterrupted operations.Providing backend production support for our applications.Responding quickly to production incidents, investigating root causes, and resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime.Debugging, troubleshooting and resolving backend issues and complex applications written in Java, SpringBoot and Python.Collaborating with development and product teams to implement fixes, performance bottlenecks and enhancements to improve system stability and performance.Monitoring system health, ensuring high availability, and optimizing performance.Providing technical support and resolving incidents for live systems.Proactively identify areas for improvement in systems and processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.What You'll Bring:

Education:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related STEM discipline field such as Mathematics, Information Technology, Systems Engineering or any field that develops skills related to essential duties -or- equivalent professional work experience.

Experience:Minimum of 1-3 years of professional work experience in production support; experience/proficiency in Java Backend is a must-have.Must have experience with SpringBoot

Proficiency in designing, developing, and optimizing queries in relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or OracleKnowledge of continuous integration and deployment processes, preferably using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, specifically with database services like Amazon RDS or Google Cloud SQL.Experience debugging and troubleshooting complex applications and systems.Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

We're headquartered in Irvine, California, and at this time, we are focusing on local W-2 resources who will report onsite, as required. We're unable to sponsor work visas and C2C contracts. Orange County (CA) residents strongly preferred. Sorry, no relocation assistance.

Salary Range Transparency: $70,000 - $95,000 - you know your worth and we want to hear you out. We're open to a salary that best reflects your experience, skills, knowledge and talents that meet our qualifications and current company needs.
