Southside Blooms is looking to add an Event Coordinator to its team.
Based in the southside of Chicago, Southside Blooms is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that is a farm-to-vase florist providing unique and fashion-forward arrangements while maintaining an uncompromising dedication to the environment and its surrounding communities. Role
As an Event Coordinator at Southside Blooms, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing the floral aspects of various events, including weddings, corporate functions, parties, and other special occasions. You will work closely with clients, vendors, and our internal team to ensure each event's floral arrangements reflect the client's vision, budget, and preferences.
Your Core Contributions To The Team
Consult with clients to understand their floral needs, preferences, and budget.Plan and coordinate all floral details for events.Work with Event Florist to design and create custom floral arrangements, including bouquets, centerpieces, and other decorative elements.Create and manage floral timelines, ensuring all aspects are on schedule.Oversee floral setup, maintenance, and teardown at event venues, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.Manage floral budgets and track expenses to ensure events remain in within client's budget.Provide on-site coordination of floral elements during events to address any issues and ensure smooth operations.Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and community partners.Mentor and guide youth involved in the event, sharing floral design techniques and event planning skills.Evaluate floral outcomes and gather feedback to continuously improve future events.About You
Knowledge, abilities, and qualifications
Proven experience as a floral coordinator or event planner with a focus on floral design.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple events simultaneously.Detail oriented with a creative mindset.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Physical stamina to handle and transport floral arrangements.Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.Experience working with clients and large-scale events.What We Provide You

This is a full-time position, requiring 8 hour shifts that occur Monday through Friday, including evening shifts and/or weekend shifts as needed. Overtime may be required.
