Montgomery County Intermediate Unit ! The Van Driver will provide safe and efficient transportation for students on routes as directed throughout Montgomery County, PA.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GEDValid PA Drivers' LicenseThree (3) years of driving experience and a clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)Knowledge of safety regulationsAble to operate a van and drive all posted routes, as well as perform all physical duties and carry out other responsibilities as assignedComplies with MCIU drug and alcohol policy and random drug-testing program.Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI.Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include operating a school van in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with all Federal and State DOT regulationsFollow safety regulations and traffic lawsMaintain student order and discipline in accordance with MCIU guidelines and policiesMaps out the most efficient routes for each student using GPSPerform all pre and post trip vehicle inspectionsFollow routes as directed by Program Administrator - OperationsMaintain route log and complete monthly mileage logsComplete transportation access logsCommunicate with student's parent/guardian about assigned routeKeep van clean and fueledCommunicate repair needs to transportation office when neededAssist children in and out of the van and their securements, proper utilization of equipment (e.g. car seats, etc.), and/or handling/securing wheelchairsMaintain professional interactions with all stakeholdersReports all accidents and completes required reportsAssists when called upon with any emergencyAttends all required training as assigned by the SupervisorImmediately notifies Supervisor of any traffic violations incurred while employedClerical tasks including, but not limited to, data entry, processing and filing paperwork, preparing documents, and updating reports. Coordinate and manage routes as needed.Present a positive image of the Intermediate Unit, its programs and services.Provide additional student and/or classroom support as needed.Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Administrator.Location:The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit is located at 2 West Lafayette Street, Norristown, PA 19401. This position requires travel to locations throughout Montgomery County, PA.
Work Schedule:Monday-Friday, 6.5-7 hours/day, 194 days/yearThis is a full-time split-shift (AM and PM route assignment) position. Days and hours of work vary but are Monday through Friday. The driver will be paid hourly and only on operated calendar days.
Hourly Rate:$23.00/hour - $24.00/hour
