YOUR OPPORTUNITYWe have an exciting new opportunity for a Sow Production Manager role in Guymon, OK farm operations. As a Sow Production Manager within our swine production division, you will hold a pivotal position responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a designated group of 20,000-30,000 sows. In this role, you will report directly to the Senior Director of Sows. Your primary mission will revolve around providing hands-on support and fostering close collaboration with our farm managers. Your objective will be to effectively implement the swine production strategy, with a strong emphasis on key operational tasks. RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS Operational Support: You will work closely with farm managers to ensure the execution of daily sow production activities. This includes overseeing adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), addressing operational issues promptly, and coordinating resources/departments effectively to maintain operational efficiency.Livability and Health: Collaborating with farm managers and vet services, you will actively monitor sow health and livability. This involves assisting in the development and implementation of health protocols, vaccination schedules, and nutrition plans aimed at enhancing the overall well-being of the sow herd.Safety Oversight: Your role extends to ensuring the safety of all farm personnel and livestock. You will actively enforce safety protocols, conduct regular safety audits, and champion a culture of safety awareness and adherence among all employees.Cost Management: You will actively identify cost-saving opportunities within daily operations, closely monitor budgets, and provide detailed reports on financial performance.Data Utilization: You will assist farm managers in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting production data. Leveraging these insights, you'll make informed recommendations and support data-driven decisions to optimize sow production processesBiosecurity and Compliance: You will ensure strict adherence to biosecurity measures, conduct thorough biosecurity audits, and provide comprehensive guidance on compliance with industry regulations, consistently staying updated on evolving standards.Team Support: You will actively collaborate with farm managers to nurture leadership skills, provide coaching and mentoring, and contribute to recruitment and training efforts to build skilled and motivated teams.Manager Development: You will actively support the professional development of farm managers. This includes identifying growth opportunities, facilitating training programs, and providing guidance to enhance their leadership skills and overall performance.CORE COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS IN ALL ROLES: instills trust, communicates effectively, action oriented, ensures accountability, and drives results. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science or Husbandry, or related field, and three years of swine experience, or in the alternative, five years of swine experience. Must have experience in all processes of swine production from gestation through farrowing.Proven experience in swine production and management, including hands-on farm management.Strong operational and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.Deep knowledge of biosecurity, safety protocols, and compliance requirements.Exceptional communication and team collaboration abilities.A dedication to animal welfare and a demonstrated commitment to operational excellence.Bilingual, English and Spanish is preferred.Valid driver's license and clear motor vehicle record (MVR).WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical and work demands listed here represent those an employee should possess to successfully perform the job's essential functions.
