RK&K is hiring a experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team in Washington, DC As a Construction Project Manager for RK&K you will support various transportation design-build projects throughout the DC, MD, VA area. This role is a hybrid assignment working from project sites, remotely, and on-site in our DC office.
Essential Function
Manage, build and develop construction inspection teamsManage assigned elements of projects as an owner's representative to ensure contract complianceManage project personnel, inspections, materials quality control and quality assurance testingServe as a communication liaison between field staff, contractor, design team, federal and state agencies, and citizensDetermine inspection staffing needs, provide staff supervision and management, research and interpret contract requirements providing technical guidance to staff and ensure quality of work productUpdate and track financial information including cost projections for projects. Make recommendations related to partial and final contractor payments. Prepare and conduct entitlement determinations, independent cost estimates, time impact recommendations and documentation related to project change ordersTrack project schedule and make recommendationsConduct project meetings to include preconstruction meetings, utility coordination meetings, progress meetings and pre-activity meetingsPrepare project management correspondence and reviews recommendations made by project staff.Manage the Project Close-out process, including as-builts, final quantities and final acceptanceFocus attention on the success of key project elements: Safety & Environmental, Quality, Schedule and CostInteract and build relationshipsRequired Skills and Experience
Ten (10) years of experience managing heavy civil infrastructure constructionFederal, state, local or municipal DOT experienceConstruction management experience in roadway, utilities, and structuresAbility to read & interpret roadway plans & specificationsUnderstanding of contractor means & methods and materialsUnderstanding of QA/QC development and execution processUnderstanding RFI and Submittal Processes as well as experience running project meetings and developing meeting minutesFamiliarity with interpreting contract specifications, standards, etcFunctional computer usage including familiarity with Microsoft office suite software, data processing equipment and contract management softwareAcceptable driving recordKnowledge and understanding of project controls (CPM scheduling, cost estimating, claim analysis)Both Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build experienceP.E. LicensePreferred Skills and Experience
Certified Construction Manager (CCM)B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering or related fieldOther Duties
