RK&K is hiring a Senior Roadway Inspector to join our CEI team in the Northeast Florida area. This position is in our Construction Management group which oversees Contractors on roadway construction projects.Essential FunctionResponsible for performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making, and checking engineering computationsAssist the Project Administrator in daily roadway inspectionEnsure contractor compliance alongside quality controlPerform inspections and testing as requiredTesting and inspections include but are not limited to earthwork, asphalt, concrete, bridge structures, lighting, pavement markings, signing and signalization, and other roadway safety components. Provides general management, supervision and instruction for the CEI InspectorsWork is performed under the general supervision of the Project Administrator
Required Skills and ExperienceHigh school graduate or equivalent plus four (4) years of experience in roadway or bridge construction inspection, two (2) years of which shall have been in roadway construction inspectionCTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level ICTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges)CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I and Level IICTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I and Level IICTQP Pile Driving InspectionCTQP Drilled Shaft InspectionCTQP Final Estimates I
Preferred Skills and ExperiencePrevious FDOT roadway and/or bridge construction inspection experienceCritical Structures Construction Issues certificationFDOT Self Study Computer Based Training course completionSupervised two or more inspectors and directly responsible for all inspection requirements related to the construction operations assigned
