Description

This position is eligible to telework. Individual approval is subject to Personnel Policy requirements.

SCOPE

Assists the Director of Public Housing with administrative details by preparing letters, memorandums, directives, reports, agenda items and other related work.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Directly responsible to the Director of Public Housing.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

Provides administrative support by preparing letters, memorandums, directives, news releases, reports and other related work.

Supervises the timely preparation of Public Housing Department agenda items for Board of Commissioners meetings.

Assists the staff of Public Housing as directed.

Assists with collections and legal proceeding requirements as needed

Provides assistance in any capacity on a temporary basis to any department within the Authority

Reviews correspondence, reports and related work of the department to determine accuracy of composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.

Maintains working knowledge of the department functions; keeps apprised of changes within the department; and provides pertinent information or reports to the Director of Public Housing.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

College degree, preferably in Business Administration and three (3) years experience in administrative work or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of the principles and methods of public and business administration and some knowledge of statistical and research methods. Ability to understand and interpret Federal Regulations. Ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public. Ability to work independently and have a good sense for priorities and willingness to use initiative. . Possess a working knowledge of computerized word processing and spreadsheet programs and file maintenance. Possess appropriate typing skills.

Ability to compose, edit and finalize reports, letters and other correspondence with little or no supervision; to retain proprietary information as confidential; and to comply with Authority attendance policies. Possess a current Oklahoma driver license with an acceptable driving record.

PHYSICAL: Near vision sufficient to read and write correspondence, read ledgers, and work with computerized reports, code books, spreadsheets, plans, etc. Hearing and speech sufficient to communicate clearly and effectively in person and by telephone. Physical range of motion and coordination for extensive typing, computer updating, filing and work with files. All physical requirements are evaluated based on the ability to perform with or without reasonable accommodations under the ADA.
