This role will report to the Accounting Manager. In this role, you will assist in the financial accounting processes, monthly/quarterly close, reconciling of accounts, as well as preparing accounting reports and facts in accordance with guidelines. This individual will have the opportunity to be a key player in shaping processes and controls. Candidates are expected to have a high aptitude and enthusiasm for conducting financial analysis; have demonstrated problem solving skills; and the ability to thrive in fast paced environments and work independently.The ideal candidate is data-driven, process-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and holds others and the organization to a high standard.West Coast Timezone preferred.
What you will do:Collaborate with various teams across the organization to prepare the COGS allocation calculation during the month-end close, ensuring compliance with the company's ASC 705 Cost of Sales and Services policy.Work closely with the supply chain and logistics team to prepare the inventory capitalization calculation during month-end close, ensuring accurate alignment of expense capitalization with inventory movements.Work closely with the supply chain team to ensure inventory costs are accurately captured in all inventory transactions within the ERP system.Support month-end and year-end close processes by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations related to inventory and cost of sales.Analyze income statement accounts related to cost of sales and collaborate closely with FP&A team members on actual and forecast analysis.Assist with preparation of excess and obsolete inventory analysis and reserves.Assist with landed cost analysis and identify and track various overhead costs at both the BOM and component levels. Monitor actual rates against historical rates, report cost variances, and investigate root causes.Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies related to inventory and cost of sales.Prepare and maintain accurate and organized cost accounting records and documentation.Assist with external audits related to cost accounting, inventory and fixed assets.Drive continuous improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes and controls.Participate in special projects and ad-hoc analysis as required.RequirementsWe would love to have you on our team if you have:Experience with Big 4 accounting firms and CPA preferredKnowledge of the manufacturing process from raw material to finished goods and cost of sales is preferred5+ years related accounting and external reporting experienceProven ability to succeed in a fast paced and constantly changing environmentStrong knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and current accounting practices.Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively in order to meet tight deadlines, working independently and under a multi-faceted team modelExperience with NetSuite or other large financial systemsExperience with ecommerce, hardware and software business models a plusBenefitsAt Oura, we care about you and your well-being.
