The Human Resources Generalist will run the daily function of the HR Department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. They also assist with timely performance evaluations and provide support in implementing personnel policy

Role and Responsibilities The duties of the Human Resources Generalist includes, but are not limited to the following tasks:

Essential duties:

Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and certifications.Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with hiring teams to understand skills and competencies required for openings.Perform general human resource functions including onboarding, offboarding, recordkeeping and benefits administrationConducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.Handle all employee verification requestsMaintain updated copies of all employee related policies and procedures as well as employee recordsPerforms all duties related to compliance and reporting at local and State levelPerforms other duties as assigned.School Culture:

Assists with labor and employment compliance issues, working closely as necessary with outside legal counselMaintain knowledge of trends and employment legislation and ensure school's complianceCommunicate changes in employee policies and procedures to staffReview the Staff Handbook annually, recommending suggested edits to the senior leadership teamAssist in 401k Audit and other audits as neededAssist with Quarterly and Year End reporting, including but not limited to, W2's, 1042s, 1099s etcOversee visa and immigration processesRequirements

Expectations, Educational Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a similar field5+ years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in an educational setting.Working knowledge of Microsoft ExcelProficiency in Google Applications, familiarity with Paylocity preferredStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to maintain the highest level of confidentialityStrong attention to detail; ability to organize, maintain and analyze dataAbility to work independently but also as a member of a teamAbility to adopt new technologies with flexibility, current systems
