Experienced Litigation Legal Assistant needed to provide high-level legal and administrative support to the firm Partner and help manage the demands of a busy practice.
Duties and Responsibilities :Process state and federal court filings; knowledge of electronic filing requirements and software requiredTranscribe dictated pleadings, correspondence, and time entries • Review, organize and index documentsDraft, file and monitor documents in electronic case sitesMaintain and organize documents in document management systemOversight of attorneys' billing procedures (including time entry, editing and invoicing)Docket crucial litigation deadlines; coordinate with attorney's calendarEstablish and manage new client filesPerform clerical tasks (including drafting letters, memos, emails and other correspondence)Submit check requests, expenses reports, etc.Some overtime may be required on evenings or weekends
Essential Skills:
At least 4 years of litigation experience - employment law experience a plusFamiliarity with basic pleadings, service of process requirements, and discoverySoftware Proficiencies: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Adobe, Dictation software and equipment, iManage (or similar document management system), Elite 3E (or similar legal billing software)Knowdedge of eBilling and law firm billing proceduresKnowledge of state and federal filing rules and proceduresAbility to edit and proofread documentsAbility to learn new and/or updated technology with easeMust be reliable, punctual and good attendance
