An AmLaw 50 international law firm's Intellectual Property - Patents Group is looking for a
Patent Specialist
with a background in
computer science
or
electrical engineering . The position is available in our Atlanta or Charlotte offices, and remote candidates may be considered for
part-time
opportunities on a case-by-case basis.
Candidate Profile:Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is preferred.Experience or interest in
data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, Internet of Things, Ior related fields .Strong technical and writing skills.Motivated individuals who are looking for a c areer path to becoming a licensed patent agent
with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).Key Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys, patent agents and inventors in preparing and prosecuting patent applications focused on emerging technologies.Train to identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors.Draft comprehensive patent applications.Prepare reports and support documentation for managing patent portfolios.Why Join?
